I joined Wreck because of the sense of community and camaraderie, but more importantly, I stayed because of a positive team mentality, lifelong friendships, and a hunger for winning. The powerful women that make this team are held as monuments to the Georgia Tech community and yet I am so lucky they also share the love of this sport. They have taught me perseverance, optimism, and mental toughness. They have given me encouragement, love, and lots of hugs. They are the reason I am eager to step on the field, and they are the reason I never leave the field alone. I love this team and I could not imagine life without them.

I joined Wreck because I was looking for a team sport. Despite knowing nothing about ultimate frisbee, I decided to give it a try. By the end of the first semester I had gained experience, friends, and a love of the sport. This team really goes out of its way to make everyone feel important and included, I’m so glad to be a part of it.

I joined Wreck because I played volleyball for four years in high school and loved it, but wanted a bit of a change. Wreck was a great choice because I got to learn a new sport (I barely knew how to throw a frisbee when I joined) and make a ton of new friends.

I joined Wreck because I had just transferred to Tech from a different university, and my first friends were Wreck members. After joining I was able to get involved in an AMAZING sport and make LOTS of Wreck friends :) I can now say that Ultimate is the best sport of all time filled with the best people of all time.

I knew that I would love this team after the first practice. As someone new to college and ultimate, I watched veteran Wreck players greet each other with incredible love and joy and knew that this was the community for me. I have loved this team for every minute that I have been a part of it. Wreck has taught me to work hard, compete, and more importantly to understand how strong my teammates and I are - and that goes for on and off the field. I can say that I would not be who I am today without Wreck, and am forever grateful to have found this community.

Coming to Tech I knew I wanted to join ultimate having played in high school. But the reason I wanted to stay was because of all my amazing teammates and the community Wreck has built both on and off the field. I love playing with teammates who I can call my closest friends, while also maintaining a competitive spirit. They all motivate and inspire me. Wreck has really been the best part about college.

Wreck is more than just a team; it’s a community. From the moment I first stepped onto the field my freshman year, I was welcomed with open arms from every single player. The love and camaraderie that Wreck fosters are unbeatable. My teammates always inspire me and push me to be my best self on and off the field. I’m so grateful for the friends, experiences, and life skills that Wreck has given me, and I wouldn’t trade this team for the world. Wreck is what makes Tech feel like home.

Ultimate frisbee was just one of those crazy college sports I thought might be fun to try. But being on Wreck is so much more than just playing a unique sport. It’s being a part of this smart, fun, funny, caring, strong group of girls who like to compete and work hard and laugh together. Wreck is truly unlike any other sports team I’ve been a part of and I only wish I’d joined sooner.
